About the Artist:
Charlene Napanangka Marshall, born in 1990 at Alice Springs Hospital, grew up in the remote community of Nyirripi, where she attended school before spending a year at boarding school in Darwin. Inspired by her late aunt, artist Eunice Napangardi, Charlene began painting after her aunt’s passing in 2005, carrying on the family tradition. She paints stories from her culture, including Wanakiji Jukurrpa (Bush Tomato Dreaming), Yuparli Dreaming (Bush Banana Dreaming), and Karnta Jukurrpa (Women’s Dreaming), with her vibrant works reflecting her deep connection to her heritage.
