Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol (1928–1987) was an American artist, film director, and producer who was a leading figure in the pop art movement. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, advertising, and celebrity culture that flourished by the 1960s, and span a variety of media, including painting, silkscreening, photography, film, and sculpture.

Pieces by Andy Warhol in the permanent collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields include Stephen Sprouse (1984),  Jimmy Carter I (1976), and Chicken Noodle (1969), among others.
