Robert Indiana (1928-2018) was born in New Castle, Indiana and grew up in Indianapolis. His work is associated with the pop art movement. He created works in media including silkscreen and Cor-ten steel. His LOVE print, first created for the MoMA's Christmas card in 1965, was the basis for his 1970 Love sculpture.
