In the 1880s, painter Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890) started a series of sunflower paintings which have now become famous icons and are one of the most instantly recognizable paintings of our time.

Crafted from noble metals and natural gemstones by jewelry artist Michael Michaud, this brooch is both inspired by and cast straight from nature, capturing every intricate detail. The sunflower is cast in bronze with a gold leaf finish. Textural druzy stones sit in the center of the flower like tiny, sparkling seeds.
